We have been accepted for the Agri-Environment Climate Scheme (AECS) - Scotland’s primary funding program for nature-friendly farming. The scheme offers 5-year contracts for land management practices that protect biodiversity, improve water quality, manage flood risks, and mitigate climate change. Our plan is for the management of specific habitats and species using Highland Cattle for biodiversity regeneration and maintenance. We are very excited to be accepted onto this scheme and welcome validation for the work we have been doing over the last ten years.
The scheme includes nearly 6000+ metres of fencing, which is necessary for the management plan’s success. The scheme offers 50% support for the fencing, which must be completed by the end of 2026.
In response to interested visitors to the farm, we are running a short campaign to raise funds to help with the completion of this work. In return, you will become part of our team of people working for nature-friendly farming with Highland Cattle.
